i was just wondering if it would be worth putting in or somehow arranging some type of chat forum for the MEMBERS of this site?

its just that going back and forth between sites and forums and emails tends to really get me confused

Because the shoutbox is really a chat area in all essence. There was also a live chat area, but I had to do away with it.

I did have a brain storm and I'm gonna get with Widescreen on this. I think it would be neat if we could have the chat as a javascript popup. That way if you wanted to use it, you can just open up the popup. Then as you are moving around the site it can sit in your task bar and when you want to shout again you don't have to go to another page....just pull that little window back up.

But I would never be able to pull that one off on my own so I'm gonna hold on it until I think it would be do-able.

we could really get some decent things done like maybe having a type of network between trusted sites or something or making this into like a huge repository

not to put a downner on this *gulp* do you remember rv's chat? no one ever used it and no one ever used the one on belchfire either thats why it isn't there anymore .. it may be a lot of work for no or little return .. bfarber is right the shoutbox is perfect for the occasional chat just thinking thats all
