I'm trying to backup the database ibrd1 and then upload it to the new host. I'm having trouble on the download and upload. It seems that no tables past ibf_posts is getting backed up and therefore not being created on the other side.

Any ideas?

Make a full site backup, and download it. Should have the sql in there.

Normally when I move a site from one host to another, I find that the only way I can get the full db moved (easily) is to go into phpmyadmin and export each table one by one and paste the sql into the phpmyadmin on the new host. With tables like ibf_posts, often I have to export only like 500 or 1000 posts at a time. For a site like bfarber.com, it's a HUGE chore moving hosts. sad.gif

Download the whole thing as an sql file! From the old host

Then upload about 5000 lines at a time on the new host and it should allow that much without hiccups! smile.gif

I found an easier way. Just get the host to give you SSH access and run mysql right on the server.

I love knowing Linux shell commands!
