Here are some of the programs used to create and use custom login screens:

Legend:
Blue stands for programs used to MAKE logins.
Red stands for programs used to APPLY logins.


ResHacker:
By far the most popular program, reshacker is a freeware resource editor that allows you to open executable files and edit the resources within (in our case mostly the bitmaps and strings). You can download ResHacker here.

ResEdit (AKA ResBuilder):
Another freeware resource editor. ResEdit, however, supports 32 bit bitmaps with the alpha channel. Get it here.

ChameleonXP:
This is a program which allows you to graphically edit a login screen. However, most people that use it report having many problems with it so it"s not quite as reliable. If you want to try it, click here.

Logon Studio:
Made by Stardock, Logon Studio is free and stable and allows you to graphically edit your login screens. However, Logon Studio saves login screens in a proprietary format (*.logonXP). We have a tutorial on how to convert it, though so feel free to use it. You can download it here.

Logon Loader:
Freeware program which allows you to swap out your login screens. Very stable, and supports a preview if you have a screenshot in the folder with the login screen. Click here to give it a try.

StyleXP:
Shareware ($20) program which allows you to swap out many customization items, including XP Login Screens. Stable, tested program, that does a host more than just swap out and randomize Login Screens.
