Using LILO, the Linux Loader, and the process described in the link above, worked for us with PCLinuxOS 2007, am currently using the minime 2008 version of that OS, there is also a tinyme version of that OS I decided against. I originally went with that distro, out of the dozens I tried, because it worked well with our wireless cards (ndiswrapper). Both Windows and Linux are installed on the same HDD with Windows being installed first, on the first partition, created during the Windows installation, and then Linux being installed on the remainder of the drive after partitioning and formatting for it. As we are slowly moving away from Microsoft Windows operating systems we now use LILO or GRUB from the MBR to boot Windows and Linux (default), instead of the ntldr, boot.ini file, and boot.lnx file to boot Linux and Windows (default) . Am also moving away from live cd's and toward live dvd's, Knoppix and Sabayon are available for download for dvd. At about 4 gigabytes the download takes a while. IMGBurn worked well in Windows for burning iso files to cd, and in Linux k3b burned iso files to dvd without a hitch. Just my two cents worth, hope something here is of some assistance. Good luck with Linux, the learning curve is steeper than with Windows, but the price you pay, and the sense of accomplishment it brings make it worth the effort.
