If you use the Favorites menu often in Internet Explorer, you will know that you have a Links folder there with some MS links in it. AND...you've likely tried to delete it, only to find that the next time you open IE it is recreated.

What you need to do to get rid of this folder permanantly is open regedit (Start->run->regedit, enter) and navigate to

CODE
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

In the right hand pane find "LinksFolderName" and rename it to "NOT_LinksFolderName" (this way you can reverse the change if necessary or desired later on). Then right click on the background and choose New->String and name it LinksFolderName. Leave the data blank, close regedit, and finally.....delete that darn links folder for the very last time...mwahahaha devil.gif
