Adobe has released a new version of it's popular Adobe Acrobat Reader product (freeware software that allows you to view, print, and save - but not create - pdf files on Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems), version 7.0.
This new version of Acrobat Reader is reportedly
VERY much faster in respect to launch times than previous versions. This is one thing I've always hated about Adobe Acrobat reader...you doubleclick a pdf file and it takes 30 seconds to a minute just to view it. For this reason, I've historically stuck to .txt and .rtf files, as Notepad and Wordpad take no time at all to open. Apparently Adobe took this issue into consideration when they released the new version of Reader, and it supposedly launches much much quicker.
The new version also adds extended searching capabilities...allowing you to search in bookmarks, metadata, or the pdf itself, whether open or searching all pdf files on your local harddrive.
