Custom launch bar
By default, Windows lets you add toolbars like Quick Launch,, Address, Links etc. to the Taskbar. Each of these has standard icons or shortcuts. You can also create your own toolbar from any folder. Do the following:
First create a folder anywhere on drive. Now use the New Shortcut Wizard to create shortcuts to your most commonly used programs.
Once the folder is populated with all the shortcuts you want, right–click on the taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then click New Toolbar. Navigate to the folder that you just created. A toolbar containing all items in that folder will be added to your taskbar.
Now simply click and drag the toolbar to some other part of your desktop so that your taskbar remains empty.
To give your toolbar a MAC look, right-click on it, point to View and choose Large Icons
You will need to ensure that your taskbar is unlocked first.
