Do you have a beautiful visual style and a custom login screen installed, but notice that everytime you hit the shut down or log off icons in your start menu, the same old dialog boxes appear, no matter what skin you use?


Well that's because these resources are contained in different files.

If you want to edit the text and bitmaps shown when you hit the Shut Down button, you will have to open up C:\Windows\System32\msgina.dll and if you want to edit the text and bitmaps shown when you hit the Log Off button, you will have to edit C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll.


Open these up in ResHacker, and if you are familiar with editing resource files you should find your way around quite quickly (hint....the bitmaps you want to edit are at the end of the bitmaps list ).
