Well, they are using Invision Board as a backbone for the site.

Firstly, you would need to purchase an Invision Board license from http://invisionboard.com. After you do, you can download the software, and follow the included instructions to install it on your host (you will also need a host that supports php and mysql).

Afterwards, you look for skins and mods you want to install. I usually use invisionize.com, but there are a few other sites also.

Each one will have instructions to install the items. Just follow the instructions included.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. smile.gif

To use IPB for free, you'd need to install and run IPB 1.3.0 (not 1.3.1 as that falls under their new license agreement).

You'd have to find it first....IPS no longer offers it obviously.

Unfortunately, no, I don't have IPB 1.3 install zip anymore. But even if I did, I couldn't redistribute it or I'd risk getting shut down by IPS myself. wink.gif

If you do find it, what you'd do is unzip it and read the instructions html file. smile.gif It's pretty thorough and step by step. You upload all the files in the "upload" folder, preserving directory structures. Then you chmod the files how it says to in the chart. Then you run the installer, and that's it. Lastly, you will configure your new site in the ACP.

You'll need to create a database and have the username/password before starting the installation.

And you'll likely want to go to invisionize afterwards and find the mods and skins you like and install them. smile.gif

Not to dis IPB, but there are a lot of other free BBS packages out there that are template driven and pretty easy to modify if you do not want to spend any money on software.

Like bfarber stated, good luck finding the older version of IPB. I would be a bit leary of running that anyway because of security issues that obviously would have been addressed in later version of IPB.
