Are you using a custom bootscreen or the default one?

Yes, what you will need to do is edit your boot.ini file. It's a hidden system file, and if you don't edit it correctly, you may run into problems. wink.gif Be careful....

With that said, you want to type this into your address bar of Windows Explorer:

C:\boot.ini

This is what mine looks like for reference:

CODE
[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

Basically, find the one you want to auto boot and assuming it is already the default (i.e. when you boot your pc, if you don't make a choice it auto selects the one you want), change timeout to 0.

You can also try right clicking my computer, choose properties, then go to advanced tab, then hit the startup button. You will see the options here as well, though these don't always seem to read properly to me for some reason.

Be careful like I said, and let me know if you have any questions. smile.gif

Wonderful... i tried removing the new lines that appear when u install Bootxp but that screwed with the visua styles & bootscreen... i had a backup, so things r hopefully straightened out... i apologize if i don't reply or attend ure site often 4 a while, but it's test-season wacko.gif ... but i intend 2 make a small hobby of making login-screens & maybe even bootscreens, rather than rereading old books, so keep an eye out for me, & thanks again ppl!

biggrin.gif Sounds good to me. wink.gif

As for the boot.ini, yes, it will remove your bootscreens if you remove some of those entries (rather, just the mapping to the custom boot screens), however it shouldn't affect your visual styles. ohmy.gif

In any event, glad it is sorted. smile.gif
