i cant use notepad to edit html files anymore

when i try to use it it doesnt work

i right click on the file and go to open with and notepad is not there

also i right click and open with and i went to browse and i went into the windows directory and found notepad.exe and clicked on it but nothing

can anyone help?, word pad is so crappy

if i got to start, --->programs ---> accesories blah blah blah... and go to notepad, it works perfectly fine but when i got to a file and go to open with, notepad is not there

What if you go "open with", "choose program" and "browse" and select notepad from path it really is?

Yeah, that should work.

Though from one of your previous posts it almost sounds like you have done that and the file still wouldn't open in notepad through that method. blink.gif

That happened to me to. I noticed it after I download some shit and caught a virus, used norton and it removed it in safe mode but I lost notepad. Does this sound familar to anyone?

It's odd that notepad of all things would be affected by a virus, but not impossible. Was anything else infected?

@bawla...have you tried Microsoft's knowledge base at all on the issue?
